Hi Sally Ray

It was nice running into you the other night at Marv’s we do not see each other near enough life gets crazy busy with kids and trying to keep Bill happy.  Bill works so many hours at the plant he never has time for me so I end of doing everything.   I am sure you know how that feels during football season it must drive you crazy.   By the way what is Joe saying about the team this year.   OMG I feel like we have so much to talk about.

Do you guys want to come over Sunday for a BBQ Bill said he would grill up Brats and the kids can play and we can talk and test out my new potato salad recipe I am thinking submitting this year?   It’s a recipe from Bill’s mom that I have adapted to of course make so much better.  I wish just once Bill’s Mom would cook with some flavor….I can understand why she does not as his Dad is such a bore won’t eat thing but meat and flavorless potatoes.   You have meet him haven’t you?   I know Joe knows him.

Also have you heard what has been going on with Krissy always being over at the floral shop?  Does not seem right to me that they can submit a recipe to the cook off as a team, but what do I know we can discuss on Sunday you can come right?  I have tried to befriend Krissy being new in town and all but she is so shy maybe we could invite her to the next women’s club meeting?

Anyway let me know about Sunday and here is my potato salad recipe I am making on Sunday do you think I should add more or less of anything?

June 26th in Churchville, USA let the contest begin!

The annual cook off was just announced at St. Marta’s parish.  Last year Krissy Carpenter won with her world famous chocolate chip cookies and rumor has it she is planning on baking chocolate chip banana bread this year which has caused quite a stir around town.  Sarah Smith was heard saying “totally not fair her baking chocolate chip anything I am going to speak to Sally to get her disqualified the day of so she does not have time to dream up another chocolate chip anything”.   Krissy is new to town and the parish so her winning was a tough pill for the women of the parish to shallow.

The pill gets even larger as Krissy is nice, pretty, smart, sexy and not married, did I say not married yes not married.  So every man in town has his eye on her and what she going to bake next hoping for a sample.  As of today she declined all invitations to dinner or a movie and as it seems only has one close friend in town, Mark.  Mark Brothers is the owner of the floral shop in town and impossibility handsome.  He does not have a girlfriend nor does he seem to be interested in dating.  The relationship between Krissy and Mark as far as the women of the parish can tell is not a steamy romance much to their dismay.

Krissy and Mark have registered for the cook off as a team and in fact were the first to register.  Sally Ray Jones the head of the women’s club and all fundraising at the parish is beside her self as Sarah and the others disagree and are gossiping about the decision Sally made to let them register as a team.

Krissy and Marks Banana Chocolate Chip Bread entered into the 2013 St Marta’s Cook off.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

3 ripe banana’s mashed

2 cups white sugar

1 stick butter softened

2 eggs

3 cups flour

1 1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 cup sour milk* or butter milk

Mix well.  Pour into 2 greased loaf pans and bake at 350 for 1 hour or until pick comes out clean in middle.

*how to make sour milk add 1/2 tsp white vinegar to white milk whole is best for baking

PS Krissy was seen in Mark’s floral shop handing out samples for votes according to Sarah the town gossip.
